IMMERSION STREAM DETAILS

The Immersion Stream of CTCA’s TRANSFORM Conference is designed to enable participants to  reflect deeply on Gospel Theology, both what it is and how to use it to develop truly gospel-centered and grace-driven patterns of ministry.  Sessions will include both theological reflection as well as practical exercises to build understanding as well as equip pastors and planters to apply these truths in their own life and ministry.

Trainers include: Andrew Katay (CEO, CTCA), Jon Hori (West Coast/East Asia Director, seeJesus), Chris Swann (Director of Church Planting, CTCA), Cameron Munro (Director of Training, CTCA), and others from within the “CTCA family”.

Introducing Theological Vision

We will engage with Tim Keller’s understanding of Theological Vision and why it is critical to developing a ministry that will truly connect with your community.

Exploring Gospel Theology

The Gospel changes everything.  It is not just the beginning of the Christian life, but is the foundation for the life of discipleship, and so, ministry in the church.

Leadership & Idolatry

Australian Author, Sen Sendjaya, provocatively stated, “Leaders are merely sinners with glorified titles.”  How do those who lead address not only the common issues of sin and temptation, but also those specific to the task of leadership?

How People Change

As those who have “put on Christ”, we are being called to personal transformation into his image.  For those who lead the church, we have been called to lead others on this journey.  How can we do this in a manner that is biblically faithful and so deeply transformational?

Renewal Cycle

“The one thing most needed … is a steady view of the glory of Christ, ... a constant, lively exercise of faith in him as he is revealed to us in Scripture” (John Owen).  In this session we explore what it means to gaze upon Christ in the gospel , and so, be “transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory” (2 Cor. 3.18).

Faith and Repentance

“Repent and believe the gospel”.  Is this just the start of the Christian life, or, as Luther declared, is “the entire life of believers to be one of repentance”? In this session we examine how the gospel draws us into a life of turning from idols and turning to Christ.

Adoption and Communion with God

Justification is the primary blessing that God bestows on us through the gospel, but adoption is the highest blessing.  In this session we explore how we live as sons and daughters of God, rejoicing and resting in our relationship with him.
